How the 8th edition differs from the 7th Edition:
• It features Professor Robert N. Anthony as a contributor rather than a co-author. This distinction recognizes his enormous contributions to the text over the 30+ years of publication.
• It is $60.00 plus shipping (no handling). This compares to over $160 on Amazon.com for the 7th edition. Your students will love you!
• It is shorter—300 pages, compared to almost 1,000 pages in the 7th Edition. The chapters on financial accounting and financial management have been eliminated (background notes and cases on these topics may be ordered separately), as have all cases except the practice cases (with answers) at the end of several technical chapters.
If interested, please request an inspection copy. You will be sent the table of contents ad the first two chapters.
If still interested, you will be sent the entire book.
Case Information:
• Most instructors used only a small fraction of the 7th edition's cases, meaning that the book was unnecessarily long and costly.
• Instructors may order cases from any of several curriculum centers, or use their own cases. They can tailor their case packets to fit their course length, sector focus, desired level of difficulty, and general pedagogical aims.
• Instructors who adopt the 8th Edition, may obtain cases from the Crimson Press Curriculum Center at no charge (compared to the Center’s normal copyright clearance fee of $2.75 per case per student for academic users and $5.30 for nonacademic users). The Curriculum Center has almost all of the cases that were in the 7th edition plus many more, a total of some 300 cases.
• Cases ordered from The Crimson Press Curriculum Center will be sent to the instructor as an E-Packet—a PDF file that can be uploaded to a course Web site or printed out as hard copy.
• The ordering process is easy. If you know which cases you wish to use, just send the list to the Curriculum Center at CrimsonCenter@cs.com, along with your university or school name, course number and name, instructor name, and semester and year. The Center's staff will do the rest.
• If you wish to examine available cases, go to www.TheCrimsonGroup.org and click on Curriculum Center. There, you may select your cases and place your order. See the nest page for more information on case studies and the Curriculum Center.
• Delivery of an E-Packet is quick. Average turnaround time from order to receipt is three business days. Moreover, by posting the E-Packet on his or her course Web site, an instructor avoids the expense and delay (and lead time!) associated with using a copy center or bookstore.
